Free Therapeutic Parenting Workshops Now Available for Local Families
Parents and carers across Gloucestershire are being invited to take part in a series of free Therapeutic Parenting Workshops designed to help families better understand and support children struggling with their mental health or complex needs.
Published: 3 November 2025
The workshops, delivered by Young Gloucestershire, provide practical guidance, emotional support, and helpful strategies that parents can use at home. They are open to all parents, with no referral required.
What the workshops offer
The free sessions will help parents:
-
Understand the emotional and behavioural needs of their child
-
Learn coping mechanisms and techniques that support the whole family
-
Explore how a child’s mental health or complex needs can affect daily life
-
Gain confidence in navigating challenges and accessing the right support
These workshops are ideal for any parent wanting to learn more about therapeutic approaches, regardless of whether they are accessing additional services.
Optional one-to-one support
Alongside the workshops, families also have the option to be referred for one-to-one support with a Mental Health Family Support Worker, who can help tailor strategies to individual circumstances. This is separate from the workshop offer and not required to attend. More information is available at Young Gloucestershire | Youth Work, Counselling and Mentoring
